Local Wedding Venues We Love

Taste is an event catering company, providing fabulous food, talked about long after your guests have gone.   We have experience of working at many of the most popular local venues.  Whether you dream of an English country scene with our delightful afternoon tea, the fun of a village fete with the spectacle of a hearty hog roast, or a sophisticated five course dinner in the splendour of a grand house, we know the location.  Equally, with good equipment hire contacts it is surprising where you can set up a temporary ‘field kitchen’.  We’re entirely flexible and happy to help you to make that dream day possible.  In terms of what you will be eating, we use local producers and suppliers to ensure the freshness and quality of everything that we prepare for you.

As a popular and busy catering company we have just a couple of spaces in our diary left for 2015 and are now fielding enquiries for 2016 and 2017.

Let us share with you some top local venues:

Cottonworth – home to Cottonworth wine and also to the Liddell family, who have farmed here for five generations, has three equally beautiful but distinctive sites for you to consider for your wedding.  The river site is a real cracker, perfect for daytime or evening functions.  The river Anton is a tributary of the river Test.  Cottonworth think the Anton has a little more mystique and magic about it. Your marquee will be nestled in a nook of the river, giving a full on river view.

They have planted vines in a wonderfully secluded spot with a jaw dropping view at the vineyard site . This is perfect on a balmy evening, when you can totally lose yourself in the nature rich valley. Your marquee sits at the top of the vineyard with the vines falling away to the bottom of the valley.  Finally, why not consider the maze, Cottonworth decided to plant a maze using their three grape varieties. The space in the centre of the Maze is large enough to erect a marquee or an impromptu stage, or even a few market stalls – great for weddings. On the way around the Maze there are strategically placed rooms where you can get lost – intentionally or not!

Horsebridge Station – an unusual and truly romantic setting, deep in the Hampshire countryside, that will make your wedding day memorable. The venue has a charming atmosphere evoked by a bygone age, lovingly preserved in this secluded corner of the Test Valley.   This faithfully restored Grade two listed Victorian Railway Station offers a personal approach to entertaining, in one of the most exclusive and unusual venues to be found in the South of England.  With not a house in sight and away from any roads, you and your guests can enjoy the privacy that the station offers. Set in two acres of secluded grounds, incorporating beautifully laid out gardens; guests can look across at the stunning views of the river Test and surrounding water meadows.

Receptions drinks can be held on Platform One, which has a covered canopy. The station faces west and is in full sunlight.  It is a delight to wander around the gardens and see the 1922 London & South Western Railway carriage, signal box, signals and all the railway memorabilia that has been collected over the years.  A must for all railway or vintage enthusiasts.

Longford Barn is situated within easy reach of the beautiful Cathedral City of Salisbury and is set in a rural location on a working farm. The Barn is also home to Kismet Photography who are the resident, experienced, professional wedding photographers.

The Barn is thought to be over 300 years old and sits proudly on mushroom shaped saddle stones and has the most amazing cathedral-like, oak beamed roof. This rustic gem offers a blank canvas for anyone wishing to design their own unique celebration space.  The Barn is perfect for the smaller more intimate wedding.  Equally, with the addition of a marquee or yurt, it is also a great space for a larger celebration.

Longford Barn shares a large yard with the adjacent farmhouse and has a field next to the Barn which completes the venue space. Both the yard and field are great places to put your marquee, yurt or tents to add that little extra space for hanging out or sheltering from the sun, and are ideal for a drinks & canapés reception. The location offers plenty of interesting photographic opportunities, many of which Kismet Photography will embrace when photographing your wedding.

The Manor Barn – Winterbourne Stoke is a privately owned and exclusive wedding and events venue, offering a flexible and personal approach, located 9 miles from Salisbury, Wiltshire. Manor Barn insideManor Barn

Modern conveniences have been incorporated while the historic character of the building has been retained.  The Manor Barn is a family run business that strives for exclusivity encouraging every couple that books to relax and enjoy their day, without the feeling that they are on a conveyor belt.

Imaginatively restored and redeveloped, the extremely popular, Old Dairy at Hatherden is less than 10 minutes drive from Andover. The Old Dairy at Hatherden Farm offers a charming wedding venue and has a range of bespoke accommodation for your exclusive use.
